About Us

In 2003, Metro Infectious Disease Consultants (MIDC) created The Metro Foundation to fill a void in the community.  In addition to supporting professional medical education to practicing physicians and fellows, the foundation acknowledges the need to provide direct care and services to indigent persons and other under-insured populations. 

With support from MIDC, its affiliates, corporate partners and others, The Metro Foundation is working toward the day that every patient receives the timely, innovative, high-quality care they deserve, regardless of their financial means and circumstances.

Through strategic partnerships and the support of generous philanthropy, The Metro Foundation hopes to:

• Continue educating the medical community at large
• Develop community-based educational programming targeting the general public
• Provide healthcare services to indigent patients

Through these and other initiatives, The Metro Foundation will continue to grow its impact.
